I've been busy lately... a bit busier than normal. So sorry that I've been lax about updating things here. I was away this past weekend in the mountains of NH with some of the ladies from church. It was nice to not have to deal with the girls for 48 hours and to have time for me to recharge my batteries. They had a great time with Grandma and were so happy to see me when I got back.
I'm also knee deep in party preparations for the First Birthday Party on May 16th. I can hardly believe that my babies will be 1 soon. It went by so fast. Faster than I thought it would at times. I'm looking forward to the next stages... the starting to walk and talk stuff and getting to do more stuff with them. It's been a fun yet exhausting year for all of us.
I've been knitting quite a bit lately.. my goal is to finish the second sweater so I can put both sweaters together before their party and give them to them while everyone is here to see them. My next project is dresses for them and then to finish the blanket I started while pregnant.

Happy Easter
Wahoo.... we made it to Easter Sunday... also known as the day the girls are officially 11 months old. We had such a great weekend. Yesterday I took the girls to the Zoo for Bunny Bonanzoo for a couple of hours. They got to see the Easter Bunny and sat on EB's lap and didn't cry at all. I of course bought the pictures that were taken since they came out so well.
Today we went to church and got to sit with the bigger kids during the story time. They seemed to love doing that. Anna had a great time flirting with the people behind us and the people in the row behind them also.
After church I took them to my brother's house to see my brother, his wife and their girls (S&D). S & D were so excited to see the babies and even had a really cute egg hunt set up for them to do. Inside the eggs my SIL and nieces had put Toddler Fruit Bars, Yogurt Drops and Baby Biter Biscuits. They also gave them an Easter Basket with more Biscuits, Yogurt Drops, Fruit Bars, an outfit each for the summer and a stuffed animal each.
Lily is doing awesome at trying to crawl. She can now move herself forward in a crawling motion if you don't exactly watch her and can also move herself forward by doing belly flop moves.
Anna is attempting to take steps forward while holding onto furniture (ie the coffee table and couch) and attempting to stand on her own without holding anything. This last part is resulting in some falls backward already. She'll get there eventually... the learning curve is still being determined for that.
I can hardly believe by the way that my daughters are now 11 months old. Where has the time gone? Can it truly have been just a year ago at this time that I was pregnant as anything and looking so forward to the birth of my little girls and wondering what they would actually look like and how I would ever be able to care for two babies at once? Now here we are a year later with two eleven month old babies that are growing each and every day. I looked back at some of their photos the other day from when they were first born and I can hardly believe that they were once so small. It's quite the trip to see how big they've gotten over time. I'm so glad that I've been taking monthly pictures to document their growth. I've also been around quite a few newborns lately and it constantly amazes me how little those babies are in comparison to Anna and Lily now.
I'm starting to plan their birthday party already. I made the invitations myself and I'll also be making their cakes (Pooh and Tigger) for the event. I'm inviting a few of their baby friends, along with a few relatives of ours. It should be a fun day.

Update on sweaters
I finally finished the first of the baby kimono sweaters... It's not totally sewn together yet. But I have started sweater #2 already.. Hoping to have them both done by their birthday. That is totally done and sewn together. Wish me luck on that.
News from Twinville
Poor poor Anna.. she's been having tons of pain lately in relation to her teeth... I happened to get her to laugh and show her mouth and she has 3 (three) teeth coming in at the moment. No wonder why she's been in pain.. But at least she will be catching up to Lily who seems to still have 8 teeth.
Anna has also been working on taking some steps.. She won't do them on her own yet.. she has to be holding on to something or someone but she is getting close.
Lily is finally starting to crawl or move forward. It's been a very slow process..but she's getting there... Lily is actually doing better with speech lately. Our EI lady was here and was playing with her and was telling her Down and Up and one of the times that Nancy was bringing her up Lily said 'uppp' . We looked at each other and tried again to do Down and Up with her and once again Lily said 'uppp' and then continued with the "p" sound of ppppp. Since then she has been calling for her bottle by saying baa (I call it a baba) and even signing "milk".
Not to be outdone (she is older by 20 min) Anna has been saying 'ook' for Book and has been continuing to say Dada and Mama... tonight I swear I heard her say "Ni Ni". Not sure what it means yet (maybe night night since she was dressed for bed and ready to go) but hopefully we'll figure it out soon.
It still floors me that they will be 11 months next week and then next month they'll be having their FIRST BIRTHDAY. How did this past year go so quickly???? Yikes. Momma is not ready for that milestone at all.

We Heart Our Cousins
So last weekend we went up to my brother's house on Saturday since my mom was there taking care of S and D while S and J were away. We had quite a bit of fun.... We had a picnic on the floor in the TV room, took a walk around the neighborhood and played on the swings.... We also sang a few songs for Anna and Lily. One of them was Trot Trot to Boston.... I'm not sure if D had heard it before since I later found her playing a computer game and singing to herself 'Trot trot to Boston, trot trot Lynn, watch out Lily you fall in'... very cute...
